Till att börja med: ett stort tack! Det vill jag ge för all respons och feedback som jag har fått denna vecka. Det både värmer och uppmuntrar.

För tillfället finns det inte så mycket att rapportera om. Förhandlingarna mellan Grekland och EU befinner sig, utåt sett, i ett dödläge. Dock verkar det hända saker internt inom SYRIZA. Det kan kan få fart på förhandlingarna. Inte minst driver den hotande statsbankrutten på.

Under tiden kan följande artiklar och skrifter vara intressanta att läsa:

The Economist sammanfattar SYRIZA:s första hundra dagar vid makten. Det är en i långa stycken kritisk genomgång:

"In almost every way, Syriza has brought the opposite of what it promised. It vowed an end to depression in Greece. Instead, growth has slumped. It pledged to end austerity politics in Europe, but has done more to embolden its advocates than any German could have hoped. It promised to jettison the bad habits of old parties, and seems instead to have acquired them."

I samband med samtalet i Gomorron Sverige kom vi in på vikten av förtroende och att återställa det. I denna artikel av Berenberg analyseras konsekvenserna av avsaknaden av förtroende och hur det har påverkat den nytillträdda regeringen. Artikeln jämför även utvecklingen mellan Grekland och Spanien, två länder som drabbats hårt av den europeiska skuldkrisen:

"After a further surge in growth in early 2015, Spain’s economy is now on track to expand by close to 3% this year. That is what Greece could have achieved if it had simply stayed the course. But it didn’t. Despite the tailwind from lower oil prices and a cheaper euro, the Greek economy may contract slightly this year. The gap between 3% growth and a slight contraction is huge. It means that some 100k jobs, which otherwise could have been created over the course of this year, will not be there in Greece. It impairs the fiscal outlook."

Förhandlingarna mellan den grekiska regeringen och EU går som bekant trögt.. Den här till engelska översatta rapporten ger regeringens syn på förhandlingsläget:

"While until recently the main argument of the institutions was that the Greek side did not submit complete proposals, now it is clear that proposals have indeed been submitted and that there have been substantial concessions towards the direction of an “honorable compromise.”

Det är lätt att glömma bort att den ekonomiska och politiska krisen även är en social och mänsklig kris som omfattar fler länder utöver Grekland. Mariams historia är en nyttig påminnelse:

"They had left Damascus two years before after their home was destroyed in a bombing, in which Mariam’s mother lost her life. After a two year odyssey that took them through Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and just over the border into Bulgaria, they made their first attempt to cross from the Turkish coast to a Greek island, nearly drowning on the way."
